Judy Matechuk Yukon Artist Profile

I have been a Yukoner for most of my life though I only moved here for a year (and that year turned into 50)!  It's a familiar story, many of us moved here then fell in love with the Yukon and stayed.  I got married, had kids and jobs and businesses then finally had time to get back into creating. I started out with fabric art and sandblasting glass then moved on to laser cutting and sublimation.  Most of my work now is designing and printing on aluminum and ceramics.

My colour changing mugs are reproduced from photos my son takes here in the Yukon, it makes the Aurora available to people from all over.

Northern lights fishing lures are new this year and are a great souvenir of the Yukon.

Unique, lightweight printed scene earrings are another 'only in the Yukon' item and the Aurora Borealis ones are treasured by all recipients.
